The midfielder, who joined from Hull City in the summer, is hoping to complete 90 Premier League minutes for the first time in Wanderers colours this weekend when Bolton visit Molineux on Saturday.
Hunt's pre-season preparations were hardly ideal with a foot injury suffered in the last campaign resulting in the Republic of Ireland international enduring six months on the sidelines.
But the 29-year-old, who has been in the team for Wolves' recent games against the current top four, claims he is ready to help Mick McCarthy's side get out of the bottom three.
"It's been difficult in terms of the teams we've played but it's out of the way now and time for me to kick on. I was happier with my performance against Arsenal,'' he told the Birmingham Mail.
"I was the ball boy's best friend against Manchester United, I passed the ball to him that many times!
"We must make sure we don't put too much pressure on ourselves having come through these games where no-one expected us to get anything.
"We can't get carried away and just need to keep doing our stuff and creating chances because eventually we'll put them away and it will be a reward for the decent football.
"A lot of opposing managers have been complimentary about us but we'd probably prefer them being nasty about us. It means we got a result."
Hunt scored twice against Bolton last season but he knows he will have to find his top form this weekend with Owen Coyle's side in fine fettle at the moment.
And the former Reading wide-man does not expect an easy test in Wolves' game against the Trotters when they take on promoted Blackpool.
"Bolton are a very good team with a good manager. They're doing particularly well at the moment,'' he said.
"Then we've got Blackpool, who are scoring freely at the moment, home and away. It's an exciting couple of games and we're looking forward to them but at the same time we have to stay patient.
"We've been creating chances and just need to take them and see where it takes us. I think people would have taken the fact we've got three points out of the last four games."
