Ollie apologises to McCarthy

Ian Holloway has apologised to Mick McCarthy following his comments regarding the Wolves manager's team selection last season.
Blackpool boss Holloway suggested this week that McCarthy made 10 changes to his starting line-up against Manchester United last term because he did not believe they could win the match.
Holloway has come under investigation from the Premier League after making 10 changes himself to his Pool side which lost 3-2 at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
The League set a precedent by slapping Wolves with a suspended £25,000 fine for doing the same thing against United last term, but Holloway suggested the two circumstances cannot be compared because, he alleged, McCarthy openly accepted that he had not fielded a full-strength side because he did not believe he could defeat the Red Devils.
McCarthy understandably took offence to the suggestion, but says Holloway has since apologised and will reiterate the apology publicly.
"I've just spoken to Ollie," McCarthy told Sky Sports News.
"He gave me a mention and he's just apologised to me and will apologise publicly for the comments attributed to me and my team.
"If anybody can find my comment from me - that I said I couldn't beat Manchester United and I'm going to play a weakened side - if you can find that comment that I've used, that I've said, then you'll be a better man than me Gunga Din, I can tell you."
McCarthy insists Holloway's own predicament is not his concern, adding: "It's not my issue. That was my issue and I'm glad I spoke to him before I came here."
