Nigel De Jong feels Manchester City are starting to click as they are finally understanding Roberto Mancini's beliefs.
Mancini saw his City side move firmly into title contention over the weekend as they inflicted Chelsea's first defeat of the season with a 1-0 success at Eastlands.
And Dutch ace De Jong feels the side are finally starting to show their potential as they are understanding Mancini's message.
"Everyone knows what kind of manager he is and where he has come from," said De Jong.
"He has come from a country where defence is No.1, and he has brought that mentality with him from Italy to Manchester.
"It took time but the main focus for him is to get the defence right because he knows we have enough quality to score - especially at home.
"This result shows that Chelsea are not robots and that everybody is beatable.
"We have lost one and drawn a couple of games ourselves and it is that unpredictability that makes it fun to play in the Premier League.
"But this is a good message to send out to other teams that when they visit this ground they have to come with 100 per cent dedication."
De Jong also paid tribute to his captain Carlos Tevez, who scored the winner on Saturday.
"I do not think there's a better big-game player at the moment. Carlos is the complete package," he said.
"Everybody praises him for scoring but his work-rate is just phenomenal."
