Striking ace Drogba returns for the Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge after missing the Blues' 2-0 midweek victory over Marseille due to suspension.
Ancelotti is expected to drop Gael Kakuta in favour of Drogba, who will line up alongside Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda in a three-pronged attack.
"The team is a little bit different when Didier plays because we can use his power and ability in the box," said Ancelotti.
"There's a different kind of movement in front. It's better that Drogba is in the game but we can also play without him."
Chelsea's last Premier League encounter at Manchester City ended in their first defeat of the campaign.
And captain John Terry was pleased to go some way to compensating for the loss against Marseille ahead of the Gunners clash.
"The only good thing about playing regularly is if you suffer a defeat you only have two or three days, not a whole week, to think about it and dwell on the result," he said.
"It's important to get out there and show the fans the way we can play.
"Now it's important that we get back to winning ways in the League. Arsenal is obviously a big game."
Ancelotti himself will be present for Sunday's match, despite the death of his father Giuseppe.
Giuseppe passed away in Italy on Wednesday aged 87, with the funeral to take place on Saturday.
Chelsea 8/11, Draw 13/5, Arsenal 4/1
