Carroll admits to being 'fully focused' for the Carling Cup tie with the Gunners at St James' Park on Wednesday before Sunday's mouth-watering Tyne-Wear derby.
The giant forward, who was recently ordered by a judge to live with his club captain Kevin Nolan following his off-field problems, looked like a man reborn against West Ham at the weekend with a goal in the 2-1 win at Upton Park.
And the 21-year-old is relieved all of the drama of the past few months is behind him, and is ready to take on the Gunners if needed, although he cannot wait for derby day.
Carroll told the Chronicle: "The next two games against Arsenal and Sunderland will be tough, it is a tough period.
"Everybody, though, is looking forward to it.
"You look forward to every week, especially the week of the derby against Sunderland."
Carroll, who signed a new five-year deal for the Magpies two weeks ago, is looking forward to Sunday's fixture knowing his future is sorted on Tyneside.
He added: "I am from here and have always wanted to be here. Knowing I am going to be here is a great feeling for the next five years. I just need to keep working hard.
"It is where I have been brought up, this is my team and where I am from, without a doubt."
Carroll admits that should he sit out of the game against Arsene Wenger's youngsters t could enhance competition for places at the club.
He went on: "There are enough players here now.
"We have competition for places and it helps you a lot in training. I just need to keep doing what I am doing."
