Coyle hails Davies call-up

Bolton boss Owen Coyle feels Kevin Davies could provide 'a breath of fresh air' to the England team.
Trotters captain Davies earned his first international call-up at the age of 33 on Monday ahead of the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.
England boss Fabio Capello included the striker in his 23-man squad, meaning Davies could win his first cap at Wembley next Tuesday.
And Coyle was thrilled to see his player earn the ultimate reward for his performance at club level after going years without international recognition.
"I'm absolutely thrilled for Kevin," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"First and foremost he's worked ever so hard for it and I think it's a fantastic achievement for him to be named in the England squad.
"All you can for ask is the opportunity, and if you get the opportunity but don't grasp it you've nobody to blame.
"Hopefully he will get the opportunity and if he does I certainly don't think he'll let anybody down and he'll be a breath of fresh air for the country."
Coyle feels Davies' all-round play would be a welcome addition to Capello's side.
"I think you only have to watch him week in week out to see the qualities and attributes he has," he added.
"The great thing about him is he's a player who doesn't have to score to contribute to the team because of his all-round play.
"If he's not scoring himself he'll be knocking them down for somebody else and I think it gives England another facet and another dimension to their play. They have quality players and he'll certainly add to that."
Sheffield-born striker Coyle was asked at the end of last season if he qualified for Scotland through his family, but he did not even check to find out.
And Coyle is thrilled his patience has finally paid off, adding: "He's had opportunities to play for some of the other home nations, but all he's ever wanted to do is play for his country.
"I'm delighted and hopefully he'll get the opportunity to do that."
The Wanderers boss admits he has been impressed with Davies ever since taking the hotseat at the Reebok Stadium earlier this year.
"He's a consummate professional I think he's getting better," he said.
"I think he's now got far more appreciation of football and how it should be played, how he has to make an impact as a striker and a leader.
"He's earned this and I love it when people go and earn things. Every day since I've inherited him he's been a blessing to work with and long may that continue."
