Downing defends Dunne

Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing insists no one is blaming captain Richard Dunne for their 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on Saturday.
The experienced defender sliced Steed Malbranque's cross on 25 minutes into his own net at the Stadium of Light for the only goal of the game.
Downing says no-one at Villa Park will be having a go at the 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international as he has been terrific this season.
Plus, the former Manchester City defender is an imposing figure and Downing believes any individual who offers a jibe in Dunne's direction has to face the repercussions.
"He has been brilliant for us this season," said Downing. "No-one is blaming him for the defeat. It is just one of those things.
"Even today, he was magnificent. A lot of players would let an own goal affect them but not Dunney, he blocks, gets in last-ditch tackles, wins headers.
"Will there be banter with Richard about the own goals record? Someone else can tell him, if they want. I'm certainly not going to and I don't know anyone else daft enough to mention it either! He's a big guy.
"As I said, he has been magnificent for us. You know what you are going to get from Dunney, he is a great leader and a top player. He redeemed himself many times over."
