Mancini hails 'champion' Tevez

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has branded Carlos Tevez 'a champion' following his goal-scoring heroics against Blackpool.
Tevez notched a brace on Sunday as City snatched a 3-2 win away to Pool to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The Argentina striker, who arrived at Eastlands from local rivals Manchester United last summer, has now netted seven goals this season, and a total of 28 in his last 31 league games.
Manager Mancini has underlined the important of Tevez to his squad, insisting the 26-year-old once again showed his quality on Sunday.
"He did not play well for 45 minutes against Blackpool but then he scored two goals," said Mancini.
"That is why he is a champion. This is what makes players like Carlos so important."
David Silva added a third goal to City's haul at Bloomfield Road with a superb solo effort, while substitute Marlon Harewood and Gary Taylor-Fletcher were on target for Pool.
Mancini dedicated the win to the memory of former City coach Malcolm Allison, who passed away last week.
"Malcolm was an important manager for City and I am very sorry for his passing. This win was for him," he said.
"We have a strong squad. A squad that wins a title, that wins a trophy must win a game like this.
"Sometimes you do not deserve to win but your mentality will carry you through. That is what strong teams do."
