Premier League contenders

Samir Nasri is rapidly emerging as a key Arsenal player this season, rivaling skipper Cesc Fabregas as the club's midfield master marksman.
Time is running out for you to get your vote in for your favourite Player of the Month, but you can get involved by clicking here.
With the Gunners' inspirational captain Fabregas missing for a number of games this season, Arsene Wenger has been delighted with the contribution and development of Nasri, who is no longer considered a 'squad player'.
The Marseille-born midfielder has been a revelation this season, and his goal in the 3-0 win at Manchester City took his goal tally in all competitions to seven.
Four of those have come in the Premier League, and manager Wenger was keen to pay tribute to the Frenchman who played a key role in the win at Eastlands. Wenger said: "He is becoming more efficient. I think he has become stronger physically and you judge a player with his numbers.
"He had a goal and an assist so that's what you want from players who have a lot of talent like he has. He is quite a complete player because he can run with the ball, he is quick and he is a clinical finisher now. I believe we have a great player in him now."
Manchester United wide man Nani has been in the hunt for the Fans' player award most of the month, scoring in the draw against West Brom and the winner in the Champions League against Bursaspor.
Javier Herndandez stole a march on his pal with two goals in the weekend win at Stoke though, with 'Chicarito' saying after the match: "We were very happy with the result. We know about Stoke's style and are delighted. I'm working a lot because I want to stay here a long time and win a lot of tournaments."
On the first goal, an impressive 27th-minute header, he added: "I jumped and saw the ball behind me and tried to head it towards the goal.
"It's a good goal but the most important thing is the result. Here there are no heroes, it is about the team. My teammates trust in me and all the staff too. It's an unbelievable opportunity for me to play with the biggest team in the world."
Carlos Tevez had few chances to shine in the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, but the talismanic Argentine has scored three crucial goals this month including a clinical brace against Blackpool. The Citizens will hope the injury that saw him out of Sunday's clash isn't serious.
Spurs' summer signing Rafael Van der Vaart was on target again for Spurs in the 1-1 draw with Everton at the weekend. The Dutchman scored a winning double against Aston Villa at the start of the month, was instrumental in the victory over Fulham and has stolen the show at the Lane recently.
Teammate Gareth Bale is getting plenty of votes too though, especially after his stunning hat-trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro. Bale's treble wasn't enough to rescue a point - but his efforts did earn him a break from the boss.
Harry Redknapp has given the 21-year-old special treatment by way of a four-day holiday with a Premier League clash at Old Trafford coming up on Saturday before Inter visit to White Hart Lane in the Champions League the following Tuesday.
Redknapp said: "It will be good to give Gareth a couple of days extra off. I think the kid needs it. I think he's probably going to go away for three or four days and we'll get him in Thursday morning and it'll do him the world of good.
"He's tired. The kid runs miles every game. He has unbelievable stats. He takes some beating most days. He runs long distances. He needs a few days now. He had two tough games with Wales and some tough games with us.
"He's such a nice lad. I walked off the plane and said, 'I bet you never dreamt of scoring a hat-trick at the San Siro'. What a thing for the rest of your life. He does run, he gallops up and down, he's got everything, really."
Chelsea's Michael Essien is still in the frame with a string of imperious central midfield performances for the table-toppers. Despite 'quietly' going about his business, fans have recognised the player's influence at Stamford Bridge.
West Brom's Youssouf Mulumbu is also putting pressure on the bigger names, playing a big part in the Baggies rise to sixth in the Premier League table. Mulumbu was on target at the weekend in the win against Fulham and was a key player in the draw away at Manchester United.
