The 20-year-old academy product has established himself as a first-team regular since making his Premier League debut against West Ham on the opening day of the campaign.
Albrighton has made an impact on new manager Gerard Houllier, who has moved quickly to tie the youngster down on a long-term basis via the new deal, which will see the winger remain at Villa Park until the summer of 2014.
The only downside for Albrighton was being suspended for last Sunday's derby against local rivals Birmingham.
He had been given his marching orders in the previous game against Burnley in the Carling Cup for a professional foul and was forced to serve a one-match ban.
Houllier confirmed: "The contract with Marc is until 2014. Marc has stepped up very well to the first team.
"Everything is about attitude - and his attitude is an example.
"He was devastated after being sent off against Burnley but he went to play for the reserves this Monday after being suspended for Sunday.
"Kevin McDonald (reserve team coach) told me his work rate was fantastic, that his attitude and effort was an example.
"When you have the talent and the attitude, the commitment, looking after yourself, working hard in games...it means a lot. He enjoys playing."
Albrighton's new deal provides Villa with a welcome boost ahead of their trip to Fulham on Saturday, with Houllier's men seeking their first win in five league games.
Fulham 11/10, Draw 9/4, Aston Villa 5/2
