The Italian coach's future at Eastlands has been questioned after the big-spending club slipped to back-to-back Premier League losses following a 2-1 defeat at Wolves.
But the former Inter Milan boss, who is preparing his City side to face Lech Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday, is not feeling the strain.
He told Ansa: "The criticism against me? I am Italian and newspapers attack City every day to sell copies."
Mancini also reflected on the form of Tottenham's Gareth Bale after the Welshman helped take apart his ex-side Inter in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
He added: "Bale at this time would exceed any opponent. He's young, he's good, one of the best players in the Premier League."
