The England international was an unused substitute in Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League victory over Spartak Moscow at Stamford Bridge.
It had been feared the 29-year-old may have picked up a knock, however, Terry was simply rested having played in the bulk of the club's campaign so far.
Chelsea are also boosted by the availability of midfield workhorse Michael Essien (toe), however, Ancelotti has confirmed French winger Florent Malouda (ankle) will play no part.
Playmaker Frank Lampard is also in line to make his comeback following a groin injury and Ancelotti is hopeful he will be able to feature on Merseyside.
"John Terry I rested because he played a lot of games and I want to maintain the players' fitness," he told the club's official website.
"Essien had a little problem on his toe but will be fit for the game against Liverpool.
"Malouda has a twist on his ankle, not a big problem but he is not able to play against Liverpool, the week after yes, and we hope Frank can play."
