Wenger hails Gunners fight

Arsene Wenger hailed the spirit of his side after Arsenal earned a hard-fought 2-0 win at Molineux.
The Gunners got off to a dream start when Marouane Chamakh nodded home from Bacary Sagna's cross in the first minute.
Wolves keeper Marcus Hahnemann saved from Andrey Arshavin soon afterwards before the hosts came back into the game, forcing Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski into several good stops.
Arshavin hit the post and Cesc Fabregas was booked late on for a touch-line lunge on Stephen Ward before Chamakh sealed the points with a last-gasp second.
Wenger told Sky Sports: "It was a very difficult night against a very good Wolves side.
"We had a good start and it was difficult as well because we couldn't take our chances and a few times we were lucky in the second half, especially in set-pieces and our keeper made some great saves but Wolves is a very good side, I've seen that at Man Utd, I've seen that again tonight, they're a team that can take points against everybody."
Asked if failing to take their chances was the main disappointment of the night, Wenger replied: "Yes but I think we were under pressure tonight so we wanted to force it a little bit on our chances and that's why I believe we didn't take our second chance (until right at the death).
"But overall, it was vital for us the three points tonight and we've shown a great spirit, great determination.
"It was today more on fighting maybe than on playing but we have shown we can fight as well."
He was pleased the Gunners did not concede a goal and he praised Fabianski who was at fault for the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend but produced outstanding saves to keep Wolves at bay.
"Overall he was spot on," said Wenger. "He has shown a great response to the disappointment on Saturday."
Wenger defended his skipper after Fabregas' tackle on Ward, who had to be substituted.
"I spoke with Cesc about it, he says it was completely accidental, that he went to play the ball and he apologised to the player, went to the dressing room and the player was okay, he has a good chance maybe to play on Saturday, he told me again it's accidental," said Wenger.
