The Swedish star admits he is desperate to stop his Trotters team-mates from making jibes about his home record after only scoring one league goal in front of his own fans since the opening day in 2008.
Elmander, an £11million signing from French club Toulouse, has turned his career around since the arrival of manager Owen Coyle.
The forward has now scored five Premier League goals - equalling his best tally since arriving in England.
With Bolton ready to extend his current deal beyond the end of the season the 29-year-old remains coy on whether he intends to stay.
However, the striker has set his sights on finding his goalscoring touch at the Reebok Stadium when Roy Hodgson's Reds come to town.
He said: "I was asked in the dressing room why I'm always scoring away from home, but that's the way it is.
"Hopefully a home goal will come against Liverpool on Sunday. I'm working as hard as I can and hopefully a goal will come.
"I have always believed in myself, but this season has started well for me.
"I've never been a 20 goals-a-season man. I've always been a striker who scores between 10 and 15 goals a season and makes goals and works hard.
"In the Premier League, if you score goals, you get more accepted and I hope I can carry it on."
