Roberto Mancini was delighted to prove the doubters wrong as Manchester City unleashed a decisive win at Fulham on Sunday evening.
Carlos Tevez notched a brace at Craven Cottage to compliment further goals from Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta in the 4-1 triumph.
Manager Mancini had recently found himself under pressure following two goalless draws against Manchester United and Birmingham, but the boss feels City silenced that criticism against the Cottagers.
Mancini told Sky Sports HD1: "I think we did a fantastic performance, the guys were fantastic because we played very well."
City came under fire for their display in their stalemate at home to the Blues last weekend, but Mancini felt that game could have ended up the same as against the Cottagers.
"I don't think there is a lot of difference, because when we played Birmingham they had 10 men behind the ball," he said.
"In football, if you score one, the result can change and you can score two or three.
"Teams playing at home play to win, that is the difference. It is difficult to win here, Fulham are strong at home."
Mancini feels City can continue to ascend the table if they maintain their current form.
He added: "I think if we play like we did today, and like in the second half against Birmingham, I think that way we can win."
